  • 2 Lead Developers, numerous others in Dev team

Emgenex delivers a modern and unique LIS experience, backed by rigorously vetted clinical reporting and an expert team in molecular diagnostic claims management.

Context

Creating this application would be a B2C platform. Users will be able to see their medical results in the form of pharmacogenetics (medications), allergies, and blood work. They would be able to schedule calls with a telehealth physician to discuss these results

My Task

To initiate a design kick-off with stakeholders and business analysts as the lead designer on the project. I was tasked with requirements which were adapted into wireframes and I rapidly created a mobile first application.

Requirements and Task Management

Met with subject matter experts and stakeholders who defined minimum requirements for the MVP of this telehealth app. Desktop was quickly explored, but we decided to go with a mobile first approach

  • Requirements captures in notes
  • Tasks were broken up and captured in Click Up
  • Created rapid wireframes in a mobile layout

I worked with a business anaylyst and development primarly through click up to parse up UX tasks and provide deliverables

Specific tasks and deliverables were comunicated through click up. I was able to mark if requirements were ready, wifeframes, and delivered for review. Through comments and files we were quickly able to iterate

Low Fidelity Wireframes

I wanted to keep this as lean as possible due to timelines. I wanted to break up the screens into sections and priorities. Since the requirements were quite complex in terms of medical and pharmaceutical data just putting text and high level requirements on screen was extremly helpful. Understanding the user, goals for the product, and a lo-fi wireframe were top priority for me.

Mockups

Putting it all together

A design system that contained text style, color guide, and components was utilzed for these mockups to keep it on brand

These screens are final mockups that were used for marketing purposed and development hand off

Home Dashboard

User will be able to access their appointments, and different tests. Their blood panel, pharmaceutical, nutritional information will be available accessed on this UI.

Pharmacogenetics Panel

Users will see their current medications and be alerted if they have any high risk medication based on their genetic profile. Clicking into each medication will describe the risks and specify the gene the genotype.

Full Genetic Results

User can see their full genetic panel and their predisposed conditions. The phenotype means the physical manifestation of the condition. There is also more specific gene codes and genotypes so a user can discuss further with a physician.

Options

It was crucial for the user to be able to print these results, or download to bring to their physician if they decided to not use the video call and scheduling aspect of the app. If they chose to schedule and have a video call through the app they could do so from the drop down or floating action button (FAB).
